Silent Blue
One of my first encounters when I arrive to Tokyo, a city I chose to live for few years, was homeless people with their “blue tents”! The bitter taste of witnessing their loneliness occupied my mind for so long; this led to creation of my Silent Blues project. Every time I tried to explore those blue shapeless wrinkled tent, I found no answer other than a pure silence. However, those lonely blue bulks turned into a calm, blue stone-shaped masse, which I was later found out that I was inspired by the “Japanese Gardens”. Lives summarized in blue silent stone. Homelessness which can be personified in homeless people, does actually apply to all people who have been uprooted from their social or cultural identity. People choose or force to lose their bonds with all their pre-existing familiarities. Maybe because of a general wandering that exists in the time that we are all part of.
